Outside the spotlight- Do you REALLY know me?
Who am I?
Like all spotlights when they shine on us they shine on just one part of us.
Often there is more. In fact, always there is more.
Yet many of us make decisions about each other on the smallest of information.
We make quick judgements, based on the little we know, and not of what we care to know, or that there is much more to know.
We think we know the person based on a brief interaction and often what others tell us, often our friends.
Is it because of our own spotlight that we do not see the best of others, or indeed the ALL of others
Is a song or an artist bad because of what we think of them or are they really quite brilliant. WE simply don’t SEE or CARE or WANT to see the talent beneath?
How often do we look beyond the briefest of glimpses?
Those glimpses that determine who people believe us to be or indeed of what we think of others.
Whose light is it anyway that shines on us. Is it mine or yours?
It’s true there is more to life than simply what is before us.
For those who care to understand they know that often what lies outside that spotlight is often the best of us and they have not seen the all of us.
