What do these buzzwords have to do with business?

“Thinking outside the box.” – Stepping out of our comfort zone, brain drain, being creative.  (fun for some, nightmare for others.)

“Let’s take this offline.” – It used to be “off the record” in our computer age we are “taking it offline” (a conversation that is better in private.)

“Value-add.” – Branding your personally – business branding – value add is nothing without branding. (they go hand in hand.)

“Low-hanging fruit.” – Who wants the low hanging fruit, anyone can have that. (Reach for the sky – reach to develop your talent.)

“Let’s run it up the flag pole.” – Is this one of the strangest clichés we have ever heard, and why would you ever run something up a flagpole?  (Just doesn’t make business sense.)

“Synergy.” – Have you ever looked at the definition (the cooperative action of two or more muscles, nerves, or the like) business is a living organism!

“Paradigm shift.” – how many businesses want this plaque in their boardroom? (A radical change) scary for many boards I hear!

“Thought leader.” – Now a thought leader is rated high in my book, a thought leader has vision and passion.  What scares me thought, is that some think anyone can become a thought leader, personally I don’t, (but if you think you can, then leave me a comment on – How to become a Thought Leader in Six Steps)

“ Strategic Fit.” – Now who is the fit designed to be fit for? (Today’s business or the one we need to take us to our tomorrows’? (Lets make sure we know which we are recruiting for!)

“Stakeholder.” – Oh yes, we need our stakeholders, for they are the ones we need to do what build our dreams.

I've decided to pursue my passion in jewellery designs since I love femininity and all things beautiful and sparkly, well almost all. I'm a proud mother to two gorgeous and amazing girls. I recently left the corporate world, went through a tragic loss and relationship breakdown yet I'm here alive and still very much wanting to pursue my dreams and maintain a state of happiness. This site opens up a new world for me to share and if I'm really privileged connect with with others.
